We learn in psychology, that rearing pets are able to enhance a child's development
Dr Nienke Endenburg, a psychologist from Utrecht gave an update of her long-term research into the effect of animal interactions on 600 'normal' children. She explained it is probably not simply ownership of a pet that is required for children to gain benefits; but that attachment to and involvement with the pet is required. Being attached to a pet is related to positive emotional functioning and positive self-esteem. Dr Endenburg has found that attachment to pets helps children who have experienced emotional problems, such as serious illness and divorce

Wonder whether pets can enhance adults development as well,
and yes, adults still develop, its a common misconception that
we stop developing after puberty.
In fact, we continue to develop till we R.I.P.
