with her lil hands still intertwined with led me on to the couch, climbed onto my lap and placed a teddy in my hands, hence begin my night with lil pocahontas.
We had a good dose of Disney playhouse, the purple dinosaur, etc..and apparently when something goes wrong with Goofy's tricks, you are supposed to say "Oh Toodles!"
The rather long night was then occupied with biking at the playground, monkey bars, swings, slides, see-saw, dinner by the pool, more TV, baths, bible bedtime storiess....and finally tucking the kids to sleep....
Its been awhile since i babysat. Fun aside, it will dawn upon you, the huge responsibility placed in your hands should you become a parent. What you pass down, is more than genes.
Incidentally, i am reminded of the potter molding the clay. Am i the image in which He desires? Design, style, colour and all?
And there, i sat on the couch, in the stillness of the night, after the children (yeah, there were 2 of them, lil pocahontas and her brother) been tucked away in bed, part reading, part lost in my thoughts.
Life at times, forces you to grow up ;) Yet as things become more uncertain, His voice seems to be more apparent. Now, more than ever, I know, He holds my hand.
For some reason, its when my head is buried within pages that i find answers to life's toughest questions.
"Naturally, we are inclined to be so mathematical and calculating that we look upon uncertainty as a bad thing..Certainty is the mark of the common-sense life, gracious uncertainty is the mark of the spiritual life. To be certain of God means that we are uncertain in our ways, we do not know what a day may bring forth. This is generally said with a sigh of sadness; it should rather be an experssion of breathless expectation."-Oswald Chambers
