Pick a doorknob 101

Its interesting how we were talking bout the locked in syndrome at cell just this week, and then i got locked out instead! If you know me, you should know, this isn't the first time it has happen, though the last was couple of years ago, i reckon.

Nonetheless, i wasn't going to let a locksmith ripped me off like the last time... RM100++ to knocked out the doorknob..and not even inclusive of fixing a new knob (i somemore had to go buy a knob at tesco and fixed it myself).

So anyway, to keep the long story short, here's how you do it:

Step 1: Locate a fork and a hair pin (or paper clip)

I'm sure you all know this is not how a typical fork or hair pin looks, so don't use one that like your grandmother gave you, or you bought during a Europe trip

Step 2: log on to Youtube.com and search..how to pick a doorknob...

Step 3: Follow accordingly, and you'll end up with this =) (Yea right!....)

Here's the real steps.... Step 1: Get a Hammer....knock you door knob until it falls off! (Refer to the picture below, if you are in doubt of how it should look like, after you hammer it out)

Step 2: Go to Tesco and buy a new door knob.. at the price of RM20!
So there you go...total cost: RM 13.99 [i ended up buying it from GIANT] (and a bit of muscle strength, and some petrol of cause)

**i must seriously learn from my Thai housemate how to do it with the pen knife...(unfortunate for me, she is not around..if not this would have been accomplish, with absolutely no damage, at zero cost! under 1 min...yeap! thats how fast she does it..) but seriously it can be done....almost like how they show you on you tube..but my fork wasn't long enough to reach the latch within..and everything else was in my room

So i'm putting it down on my to-do list..."learn how to pick a lock from my housemate!"
