But as you grow, or am gradually exposed to the world out there via interaction and what not, you will find the most intelligent person in the oddest places, choosing probably a less "limelight" sorta job and truly humble in every possible way. Not necessarily possessing a Masters of PHD. This is a mere illustration of what i think about how the way we think these days...are so polluted by what the world deems is good, successful or "something to proud of".
And us, being clouded by these notions, fail to discover the true beauty of life, the beauty in individuality or rather in individual differences.
That slow does not necessary mean inefficient;
or being soft does not signify one is a coward;
less organize doesn't mean no purpose in life;
lack of exposure does not equal not proactive;
not boastful doesn't mean no self confidence;
and yes the list goes on...
and so less can be more
in fact, less is more
and this phrase can be applied beyond the dimension called life
we all learn the principle of parsimony (at least we psych students do)
or how at peak of success,
many come to realize its the simple things in life that puts a smile on their face.
its the hug you get from your love ones after a hard day of work
the smile you see on your children's faces when you spend time with them
the approving nod you get from peers
the thank yous uttered after your tiny acts of kindness
the goodnight kiss planted on your forehead that lifts your day's worries
the morning greetings and encouragements that gives hope to a new day
and that hand squeeze that assures you that things will be alright
or even if their not, someone will be there for you
and only when you learn to see the beauty in "less"
any "more" will never be enough to satisfy you.
And this lesson alone, i learnt most unexpectedly in a totally different context, yet sparked these thoughts in me...and yes its true..less is more!
Thank you for showing me that! You know who you are ;)
