fear, betrayal, hurt...

fear, betrayal, hurt
the truth is, you will experience it all
not occasionally, but repetitively
it will eat into you
till you find you can fight no more
that you want to give up
you just want to give in
and lean on someone
there is no escape route
those tears they will flow
the countless night you do not fall asleep
wondering, thinking, reflecting
and then someone comes along that makes your heart beat again
yet you hold back
you fear
that it might just be
another nightmare in the making
that it all starts of sweet and rosey
cause you no longer dare put yourself out there
allow your heart to love unconditionally
you curl up within your 4 walls
and wish the world would fade away
and that you will forever be caught between the time
in which you gave your heart away
and the day it was crushed
hoping, it was all a dream

but it will pass
so they say
the pain will fade
and you'll stand again
you'll love again
your dreams and plans which was once stolen
will be returned to you
you will smile again
laugh with all your heart
you will trust again
and allow another to cradle your soul
you'll gather the courage
to once again take that leap of faith
because you are stronger than you think
more unique than you ever gave yourself credit for
and because you know
you deserve to love and be loved.

"Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket--safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable."

C. S. Lewis

Just a quote that my sister shared with me that I thought I'd share with you.
