A taste of optimism

Once again, i am thankful that i am not superstitious, with the amount of "bad" things occurring in my life, the FS masters will probably be asking me to move the arrangements of stuff in my house, buy a trillion dollar statue and put it facing the front door, or even change my name! Still, speaking of a bad week, it can be quite a challenge to keep smiling when your watch, laptop, car all crashed in one week, i meant to say spoil i guess, since, i did not literally crash it...and to top it up, there's been a death in the extended family.

I reckon i am coping well, being optimistic! If the year 2007 has taught me anything is to always look at the bright side, and of course trust in God!

watch...already been 3 years, so about time to change battery and strap...so i shouldn't fuss (plus i really like my new strap)

laptop...i have no idea why the LCD screen decides to have what the DELL support people call 'geometric distortion', took like a week to fix including making payment, waiting for the support guy to come fix it...but now the top side of my laptop looks completely new, no more scratches since they replaces the entire top cover + screen...(assuming it didn't cost me money, yea right...of course it did... almost equivalent to 1/3 of a new laptop!)

car...i actually just service it the other day, no idea why the thermostat decides to be funny and not function....I still haven't got it fixed since the 1st mechanic i went to, assumed that all girls are somewhat "dumb" when it comes to cars and decides to quote me like 10 times more than my default mechanic says it does! have to go seek a 2nd opinion, since i don't think my car is going survive the 3 hour drive back to my hometown for my default mechanic to peer into...

In addition, the temperature indicator is also a lil funky, it can indicate like SUPER HOT and then SUPER COLD the next minute...and YES i am aware that i should get it fix soon...

Anyway, all this migration has been taking up time....i think i'm too fickled, though i can't say i am not enjoying all this messing around with widgets, etc. sometimes i wonder why didn't i study something design/IT related, but in actual fact i did consider..applied for creative multimedia & architecture/interior design sorta courses..oh well, there is always something called a 2nd degree.

Granny, she's one of a kind, turned 81 this year, lived to seen at least 3 generations, has amazing memory, and the list goes on...i think the word "independent" describes her best. Best of all, is that the family can rest in the assurance that she is now with the Lord, and we'll meet again someday. It sorta is a big bang to me as i always thought she would live to see me get married, have children..etc..she one of the hardiest women i ever met, and the last living grandparent i had. Yet old age and sickness took its toll. So i guess, my children will grow up like i did, never really knowing who their great grandparents were, except from the stories they will be told.

And again, i am reminded of the fragility of life.
